Makita’s drywall sander DSL800 offers access to awkward corners

Makita is launching a new cordless drywall sander DSL800ZU. Thanks to its smart design, the machine offers access to even most awkward corners. Constant speed control makes sanding of gypsum board seams quick and easy. The AWS function allows a vacuum cleaner to be started via a Bluetooth connection.

Constant speed control and efficient dust extraction with an AWS feature

The rotating speed of Makita’s DSL800ZU drywall sander can be adjusted between 1,000 and 1,800 min-1. The machine is equipped with a soft start function for added convenience. It is AWS compatible and delivered with an AWS chip. With the AWS chip, the machine is connected to a compatible AWS vacuum cleaner via a Bluetooth connection automatically when the machine switches on.

Sands also around the edges

Unlike many other machines available on the market, Makita’s drywall sander is equipped with a smartly designed pad guard to enable sanding around the edges. In addition, the pad guard has a removable top part, which covers rolls that spin sideways. The rolls can be supported against the ceiling for sanding close to the corners of walls and ceilings.

Adjustable telescopic pipe shaft – extension handle available as an accessory

The machine is equipped with a telescopic shaft that can be adjusted in a stepless manner (1,100–1,520 mm), making it suitable for a wide range of applications. In addition, an extension handle kit is available as an accessory, including a 58 cm extension handle, belt and a holder for supporting the tool on the waist. With the extension handle, the length of the machine is up to 2.1 metres.

Runtime of about 35 minutes with a 5.0 Ah battery

With a 5.0 Ah battery, the machine offers runtime of about 35 minutes.
