WARRANTY

Each Makita product is thoroughly inspected and tested before it leaves the factory. In heavy use, even high-quality appliances require repairs every now and then. We offer our products a warranty subject to the following terms. These warranty terms shall be applied to products purchased on or after [1.05.2019].

This warranty does not affect your legal consumer rights or your rights in respect to the seller based on your purchase contract.

This warranty is granted by Makita Oy (address Teilimäki 4, 01530 Vantaa, hereinafter “Makita”) and it is valid in Finland.

What does the warranty cover?

The warranty covers all CE-marked Makita products.

The warranty covers all defects attributable to material and/or manufacturing faults.

The warranty does not cover the following:

• servicing by anyone other than an authorized Makita repair service provider
• wear or tear caused by normal use
• defects that have been caused by appliance overload
• defects that have been caused by inadequate or improper maintenance, carelessness or because the product has been used other than in accordance with good practice and Makita’s instructions or recommendations
• defects caused by using improper parts or accessories fitted to the product
• minor deviations in quality that are of no significance to the appliance’s value or fitness for purpose

If the defect falls under the warranty, Makita will at its discretion either repair the product free or charge or replace the defective product with an equivalent product. Replaced products and/or their parts shall pass into Makita’s ownership.

The repair or replacement of the product does not extend the warranty period.

Warranty periods

The warranty period for petrol powered products is two (2) years in recreational purposes and six (6) months in professional use, from the date of first purchase.

The warranty period for all other products is one (1) year from the date of first purchase.

What do I do if a defect appears during the warranty period?

If you have problems with your product, deliver the product to Makita’s service center or an authorized warranty repair service provider. You can find the closest authorized warranty repair service provider here https://www.makita.fi/service-partner-locator.html. The product must be delivered to the service center appropriately packaged and not disassembled. Please include with the product your proof of purchase as well as a copy of the warranty certificate if the product has been registered for the 3-year extended warranty.

The rights granted by this warranty include only the right to the repair or replacement of the defective product, as stipulated above. To the extent permitted under applicable law, Makita shall not be liable for loss of profit or any other indirect or consequential damages. These warranty terms shall be governed by the laws of Finland.

WARRANTY PERIODS

The warranty period for Makita products is one (1) year with the exception of combustion engine products with a warranty period of two (2) years for recreational use. The professional and comparable use of internal combustion engines is half (1/2) YEARS.

The warranty period for products with a Dolmar combustion engine is two (2) years in recreational use. For professional and comparable use, the warranty period is half (1/2) years. The warranty period for Dolmar powered electric motors is one (1) year.
